We are pleased to share that our office has been again recognized by the Florida Courts for being the first to implement Uniform Case Reporting (UCR). The UCR provides a near real-time release of court data and allows for more efficient case management that benefits the citizens and the courts.
“The Uniform Case Reporting system initiative represents a significant modernization in the way Florida’s trial courts collect and analyze case information,” said Chief Justice Charles T. Canady.
Our team is always looking for ways to streamline and modernize services, so that we can lead the way into the future for our constituents. The implementation of Uniform Case Reporting is a significant first step to support the judicial branch in assessing performance and determining resource needs.
A warm thank you to Jill Lennon, our very own Director of Courts, and Todd Peterson, our Court Software Developer, for leading this project. Over the past year they have worked with the court’s software development vendor to set up and test Circuit Civil, County Civil, Small Claims, and Family Law cases. These cases are now live in the OSCA UCR Web Service and Court Management System. Probate and criminal cases will soon be included.
Clerks of Court across the state are working on transitioning to Uniform Case Reporting, in collaboration with the Office of the State Courts Administrator (OSCA), which is divided into two phases. Phase I is the Data Exchange Capability which ensures that the expected data from the courts are accessible and properly exchanged with the OSCA. Phase II is the Analysis and Verification which verifies the quality, accuracy, and consistency of data provided by the clerk of courts to the state courts system.
