Dwight E. Brock, Clerk of the Circuit Court of Collier County announced today that the SAP systems upgrade project has been successfully completed. For the past 5 months, a group of dedicated employees from the Clerk’s office and County staff have been hard at work to improve the County’s administrative, financial and reporting systems through the use of SAP, a systems integration software and reporting system. The successful implementation is expected to improve both operational efficiency and information reporting across the organizations. Mr. Brock stated “this collaboration and success is a fine example of working together for the good of all the taxpayers in order to save money and position ourselves for the challenges and opportunities in the future.” Some of the results included a simplified purchase order process; reduction of data entry for requisitions; and new and enhanced reporting. The project was designed and implemented with minimal disruption in the day to day operations of county business. The team leaders, Kelly Jones from the Clerk’s Finance Department, Jane McDonald from Clerk’s Management Information Systems (MIS) and Joanne Markiewicz from the County’s Purchasing Department all agreed that it was truly a team effort. When asked about the success of the project, leaders mentioned the dedication and hard work of over 75 staff from different functional areas including Human Resources, Payroll, Finance, Purchasing, Budgeting and MIS. Each team leader brought a different perspective and expertise to the project with their backgrounds in finance, technology and project management. The project team also included LSI Consulting from Boston, a firm specializing in SAP systems integration projects in the public sector. |
