Section 1. (d), Article VIII, State Constitution, provides that "the Clerk of the Circuit Court shall be Ex-Officio clerk of the Board of County Commissioners, auditor, recorder and custodian of all county funds." | Services:
- Audit the Board of County Commisioners (BCC) payments to ensure that transactions are valid, legal and meet a public purpose
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Maintain an inventory of County fixed assets, including tangible personal property, buildings, land and other Board-related improvements
- Manage cash including investment of surplus County funds
- Manage and report on debt
- Process payroll for all BCC, Supervisor of Elections (SOE), and Clerk employees
- Account for grant funds
- Audit contract expenditures
- Prepare Department of Revenue tax filings
- Prepare financial reports, including the County’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR)
In addition to the above services, the Finance Department performs similar functions for the Clerk of Courts and also processes payroll and prepares financial reports for the Supervisor of Elections.
